This too shall pass….

laundry

I am running around the house on a Saturday morning, and I am trying to get my house in order after the week’s events.  Some days it seems that I am repeating the same motions over and over:  clean kitchen, start laundry, check email, clean a dirty diaper…clean kitchen, switch laundry, check another email, clean another dirty diaper, pick up a toy…clean kitchen, switch out laundry, check an email…you get the point!

Today the thought ran through my mind:  “Will it ever end?”  And, immediately, a YES resounded in my heart.  One day I will wish I had a dirty diaper, a dirty kitchen, a pile of laundry.  One day it will end.  My children will become adults and live in their own homes (with their own unending cycle…heehee).  I am only living in a moment that will pass all too soon.

This past week my daughter’s discipleship course focused on renewing your mind.  I am thankful for the YES that resounded to my selfish question.  I needed to be renewed and reminded.  This too shall pass…

…Be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God…(Romans 12:2, AMP)
