Why Garlic Salt is My Favorite Seasoning

Every famous chef has a special sauce, a secret ingredient, or a favorite seasoning they often use.  Not saying that I am anywhere near being a chef, much less being famous for it!  But, I have found an ingredient that has saved the day on many occasions.

Garlic Salt Seasoning

Yes, garlic salt is my favorite seasoning, and one of the most often used items in my pantry.  The longer I cook, the more I look for ways to simplify.  This seasoning makes almost anything a meal!

Baked Potato & Grilled Pork Chops

Here are my favorite uses for garlic salt:

Microwave Baked Potatoes:

After washing, then poking several times with a fork, I put olive oil all over the skin of the potato.  Sprinkle garlic salt all over the potato.  Microwave for 12 minutes on HIGH. Enjoy a potato that is good without a single topping!

Grilled Pork Chops:

Brush pork chops with olive oil.  Sprinkle with garlic salt (and a little rosemary and thyme if available).  Grill until done.  Yum!

Hamburgers:

Make ground beef patties.  Sprinkle with garlic salt and a little pepper.  Grill or fry until cooked.  Tastes just like a restaurant burger!

So, next time you are staring blankly at your pantry for a dinner idea.  Just pull out the garlic salt!
