About

As a school administrator for homeschool families and a coordinator for a large community support group, I have found many parents needing encouragement and counsel in their homeschool journey.

This is my personal blog. It is focused on educating and encouraging home educators.  My mission is to help parents feel confident in their educational choices for their children. I write about homeschooling, educational resources, home management, life with twins, and my faith experiences. Of course, I will occasionally drop in something a little extra that runs across my path.

My goal is to create relevant content that you can use and implement in your life as a homeschooling parent.  If you are a home educator—or think you might want to be—then this blog is for you.

I typically post a couple of times a week. To make sure you don’t miss my newest posts, you can subscribe via RSS or e-mail.

About Me

My daughter recently asked me, “Mom, did you always want to lead a homeschool group?” Definitely not!  I grew up wanting to sing, and God gave me a little professional opportunity with a trio called ‘N Joy.  Maybe you might run across a CD one day…

Homeschooling was introduced to me at Lee University where I got my bachelor’s degree in music education.  I was immediately enthralled!  I loved the experiences and freedom these students were able to have.

After working with my husband to develop several local church youth ministries, I began homeschooling in California over 10 years ago, and I haven’t regretted the path at all!  I was blessed to have mentors who held my hand through the beginning stages and gave me a great foundation.

I currently homeschool three of my children, and my oldest daughter (who I homeschooled K-12) is months from receiving her liberal arts college degree.  I have the privilege of working mainly from home, and I am thankful for this freedom.

I enjoy reading, creating websites, making music, studying the Bible, laughing with my family, and organizing almost anything.  I grew up as a pastor’s kid, so I have a strong Christian faith that is reflected in my writing.
