Today is not Easter…yet, and it is not Good Friday either. It is that day in between. It reminds me of a waiting room, a waiting place. The Bible doesn’t give us much insight into what happened this day, except the work of the Jewish leaders to make sure the tomb was guarded. It seems that those who opposed Jesus were more aware of His teaching and were more concerned that His claims would somehow be Truth. They made every effort to pervert that Truth and to deceive.
We don’t know the thoughts of His disciples. We don’t even see them declaring Truth. They are quiet and still. They seem to be numb with pain and shock.
It is a time of waiting. It is a time of Sabbath. It is a time of laying down plans of how it should be done and finding hope in the fact that God will do it His way.
All we can “do” is wait….
